Determining Floor Layouts
Correct location of movement joints is essential for successful floor detailing. Allowance must be made for any restraints to slab movement, such as foundations, concrete wall panel ties, trenches, etc. Lesa Systems provided a free service for determining joint layouts in slabs, where Lesa products are used.

Sawcut joints
Except with steel fibre floors sawcuts are needed between the movement joints. Typical spacing is 5-6 metres. These sawcuts will barely move, and dowels are often un-necessary. Sawcuts are often left un-filled, but they can be sealed with most types of sealant from an early age. Reinforcing at sawcuts should not be cut.
